With several hours of newly restored Super 8mm footage, a retired airline captain in his 90s recounts his days during the golden age of aviation in honor of his induction into the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
DIRECTORS STATEMENT
Although I've known him all my life, my grandpa is someone who was a mystery to me. Through relics of his past such as flight logs, film reels, photographs, and blurts of information at dinner tables, I've only been able to get a brief glimpse behind the curtain. Utilizing the power of film can help me get a bit closer to understanding who he is, even if it's constrained to a 5-minute time limit.
