Emilio Vazquez Reyes is a Mexican-American film director, writer, producer, cinematographer, and video editor based in Frisco, Texas. He began his filmmaking journey in his early childhood and continued all forms of videography and photography. In his teenage years, he began to experiment and become proficient in film formats such as Super 8 and 16mm.
At 16, his directorial debut short film Honeybee won the Grand Jury Award for Texas High School Shorts at the 2022 SXSW film festival and the Golden Gate Award for the Youthworks category Academy-Award Qualifying San Francisco International Film Festival.
Shortly afterwards, he and his brother founded their arthouse independent film production company, GORETTI PICTURES LLC. As of late, they are currently working on producing larger-budget films while expanding their team, influence, and presence.
With the focus on independent study, I will develop and improve my writing skills, establish my directing style, and become more knowledgeable on on-set practicality. Through the help of my mentor, I plan to gain high-level connections in the film industry, receive help in my future projects, get offered film opportunities, and obtain a better understanding of how the industry works.
Since I have a solid framework with impressive prerequisites for the film industry, I hope that the endless possibilities and opportunities that ISM offers will cultivate in me growing my career, business, knowledge, and understanding of a complex industry and art form.
